Oshkosh 2014

Hi All,

Just so John does not think I have forgotten Oshkosh this year -

After the trailer had the blowout last year, it now has new rubber including the spare tire!! The truck has had it's oil changed (15 quarts) new brake pads and 4, yes 4 new rotors. You don't want to know how much a rotor is for a F-250!!

This weekend it's oil change time for the all important generator and Joe and I will start loading the truck.

We intend on pulling out Saturday the 19th arriving in Oshkosh on the afternoon of the 20th - this is one day later than past years.

We've been doing non rain dances to the various Gods for good weather - is the snow off the ground up there?

See you all in 48 days or 4,147,200 seconds

Bob

The New Fender

Tomorrow is Oshkosh clean up day.  The latest we have ever done it.  I have opened the trailer, thanks to the good weather at Oshkosh this year - there were NO FLYs!! And it did not smell bad.

Today I replaced the Fender

The Aluminum Overcast in NJ

Hi All

On Saturday Liz and I dropped a couple of packages off at the local FedEx depot. Just as we got out of the car - I heard the sound of a radial engine - Oh several radial engines.

Holy Crap - it's a B-17 about a hundred feet in the air, taking off.

It was the EAA's B-17 at the  Caldwell Airport

So Sunday Liz and I went back with a couple good cameras and snapped a few pix's

Oshkosh Pack-day 2013

Hello All,

Today was pack day - Paul P, Joe R and Chuck D along with Joe's girl friend Ashley.  We pulled the wheels off the trailer for inspection of the bearings and tires.  All was great. Next was the oil change on the generator.  We are now 80% ready to go.

The only problem was the 92 degrees with 10000% humidity.

Mahoney - Brick - what to say?

Hi All,

From everyone's reaction, and again thank you Brian for thinking of it, we're buying a brick. We'll get as many people to kick in 50 bucks as we can. I will make up the difference, if any.  and we'll go for the thousand dollar version.  What the heck, we all had $1000 worth of fun with Mahoney over the years.

So… there's lots of room for words so I am now going to ask for all of you to contribute a line or two, fun stuff I would guess, and finalize the order as soon as we can.

I'll then try and beg the EAA on getting it installed prior to the convention.
